> Chain-letter / A chain letter is a circulating address list with the intention to enlarge the contacts within the Mail-Art network. Mostly the list contains about ten different addresses, with an initial text to ask the receiver to send a piece of Mail-Art to the first address. He/she should remove this address also from the list and add his/her address. The new list should be copied about ten times and distributed towards other correspondents. After a while if the chain hasn't been broken the people on the list will receive a large amount of Mail-Art from around the world, when their address has moved to the top of the list. Chain-letters are unpopular within the Mail-Art, yet used mostly by new commers to the Mail-Art network. Related Topics: Date last update: 19 March 2003 |
