1. How and when did you become involved in Mail-Art?

Well, I became involved in Mail-Art in 1979 as collaborator of WestEast International Association for concrete & Visual Poetry. Founder was Franci Zagoricnik, famous poet and multimedia artist from Slovenia who died in 1997. Interesting co-incidence is that Filimir becames involved on the same way!

2. Can you give us a short C.V. of your Mail-Art activities from the beginning till now?

Here is really a short C.V.

  • 1979 - I became involved in Mail-Art via contacts from WestEast Association
  • 1981 - I currated 1st international Mail-Art show at Belgrade city library ... From that time I currated 17 international Mail-Art exhibitions and multimedia art programs. Also I currated special Mail-Art projects, such as ...
  • 1988 - "Radio Network" project (radio Belgrade, Zagreb, Pula, Split, Novi Sad, ... Emission "Green Megaherz") also 1989 in Radio Novi Sad ... also Radio Belgrade 1991 (ozon).
  • 1991 - Feed-back card project named "Feel me" or "Flying-up" project at Museum of Contemporary Art - Belgrade - 1993.
  • 1992 - I published my first book "Art as communication" mostly dedicated to Mail-Art.
  • 1996 - My 2nd book also was (particularry) dedicated to Mail-Art named "Open world - Open mind".
  • 1992 & 1993 & 1994 - I was just often on our TV programs, radio-programs too & at newspapers ... etc etc

3. What are your specific activities within Mail-Art?

Besides well-known "Open World" (first serie of 103 issues and than second issues), I was probably one of first persons in Mail-Art network (besides Gunther Ruch, Ruggero Maggi, John Held Jr., H.R. Fricker ... and Fluxus artists before us) who accept and promote idea of "networkers island" & full Mail-Art contacts - in live (before Fricker's "Tourism", understand?)
